Safe, compassionate, and emotionally supportive care for peaceful nights.

ABOUT MY ROLE & APPROACH

What is your official job title, and what ages do you work with?

I am an Overnight Infant Nanny, specializing in babies from Newborn to 12 months. I focus on the newborn stage because it is tender, emotional, and deeply transformative. Supporting families through this season brings me so much purpose!

What does an Overnight Nanny do?

I care for your baby throughout the night so you can truly rest, recover from pregnancy, and wake up ready to bond with your little one in the morning. I handle every aspect of nighttime care—feeding, burping, soothing, diaper changes, comforting, and attentive support. I have experience with singletons, twins, preemies, infants under or over 6 pounds, breastfed and bottle-fed babies, circumcised infants, NICU graduates, and babies with swallowing or reflux challenges. I also support families with older children, toddlers, limited support systems, large support systems, and even households with a parent working night shifts. In addition to direct infant care, I complete light baby-related tasks such as washing bottles, pump parts, even light cleanup, dishes, and baby laundry. I provide gentle sleep rhythms and calm emotional reassurance throughout the night as well.

Do you follow our parenting preferences or use your own methods?

I always follow your parenting preferences. Your baby’s well-being, your values, and your comfort come first. I support responsive care, pacifiers, safe swaddles, on-demand or scheduled feeding, and your preferred routines. I cannot support unsafe sleep practices, such as bedsharing, or the cry-it-out method for newborns. I am here to comfort the baby, making sure they are happy, healthy, and safe. Safety always guides my decisions.

Do you help with sleep training or sleep shaping?

I offer sleep shaping, not formal sleep training. I support healthy rhythms, wake windows, sleepy cues, soothing techniques, and age-appropriate structure. I can follow your plan or create a gentle resource from guides or sources that already exist based on age. I do not offer full sleep training yet, but I am completing a Pediatric Sleep Coaching Certification with mentorship from a respected company. I believe that formal sleep training is best after 4+ months. I would be happy to offer families this service when I am confident in my skills as a Pediatric Sleep Coach, so feel free to contact me!

Do you help with postpartum mental health support?

Emotionally: yes. Clinically: no. I offer a calm, judgment-free space, reassurance, and encouragement. I can listen and if you would like advice from a mother I can provide that, since I am a parent to three of my own. I can also share resources if deeper support is needed. I do not diagnose or treat postpartum mood disorders, but I absolutely care deeply about your emotional well-being. I have been there, that is why I am here for you.

SAFETY, HEALTH & SCOPE OF PRACTICE

How do you keep my baby safe?

I follow all safe sleep guidelines, including back sleeping on a firm, flat surface. I maintain personal and nutritional hygiene, avoid kissing the baby, and stay attentive throughout the night. I am experienced with twins, NICU graduates, underweight infants, swallowing challenges, circumcision after-care, reflux/GERD, and high-needs sleepers. However I am not trained to do anything medical like feeding tubes, heartbeat monitors, etc, other than CPR and first aid when necessary.

Can you administer gas drops or saline?

Yes, with parental direction. I can administer gas drops and saline spray/drops. I cannot give Tylenol, Motrin, or any prescription medications. I prefer parents administer medications before bed when possible.

Are you responsible for SIDS?

No caregiver can guarantee protection from SIDS. I am not responsible for SIDS, but I am responsible for following every evidence-based safe sleep guideline to reduce risk. I do everything I can to ensure the safety of your precious child.

NIGHTTIME LOGISTICS & EXPECTATIONS

Do you stay awake all night or sleep when the baby sleeps?

You decide.

If I am awake: I need a separate space from the baby, a light source, and a monitor if in a different room. I keep the baby's area dark and calm.

If I am resting lightly: I need access to a couch or bed with clean bedding (or I can bring my own). I wake immediately when your baby needs me.

What happens during the first night you come?

We do a brief check-in, walk through your baby’s setup, and review your preferences. You go to sleep, and I take over entirely: feeding, soothing, diapering, and tracking. In the morning, you receive a gentle, clear summary of the night.

What do you need from us before the first shift?

I need your feeding plan, any allergies or health notes, sleep preferences, diapering details, bottle/pump supply locations, home expectations (lights, noise, entry), and emergency contact information.

Do you bring your own supplies?

Describe the item or answer the question so that site visitors who are interested get more information. You can emphasize this text with bullets, italics or bold, and add links.

Do you work with families who have pets?

Yes. I am comfortable with dogs, and even have two of my own. I am also comfortable with cats, and most household pets. Please tell me any boundaries or routines.

Do you use cameras?

You may record me, as long as I am informed. Recordings may not be shared without my permission. If I ever use photos or content in the future, I will request your written consent through a media release.

Do you require parking or home entry instructions?

Yes. I need to know exactly where you prefer me to park, driveway or street is fine, as long as it’s clear and safe. For entering the home, I need instructions on which door to use and any relevant security or alarm details. If you are not home at the start of my shift, billing begins at the scheduled time, but I will never enter without permission. If I am caring for your baby, I will not leave the home until you return.

SERVICES, AVAILABILITY & BOOKING

Do you require a contract?

Yes. A contract protects your family, ensures clarity, and sets consistent expectations. It creates alignment and trust from the beginning.

How far in advance should we book?

Ideally during your third trimester, or at least one month before birth. As a one-person service, availability is limited. I usually work with families for 3–4 months, but if you discover overnight care later and I have an opening, I’m happy to start anytime.

Do you offer one-time or emergency nights?

Yes, if I have availability. These are perfect for illness recovery, regressions, exhaustion, or unexpected events.

Do you offer daytime support?

Sometimes, depending on my overnight schedule and sleep needs. Please ask, and I will check my availability.

Do you charge extra for siblings?

Yes, because newborn care requires my full attention. If you want me to care for older siblings as well, we will create a separate contract and rate.

Can you help with triplets or quadruplets?

Yes. For safety and quality-of-care reasons, I can personally care for two infants at a time. For families with triplets or quadruplets, I offer Tag-Team Overnight Support, where I care for two babies throughout the night while the parent(s) remain responsible for the additional little one(s).

Even though I am hands-on with only two infants, I still support the entire household by: preparing and cleaning all bottles, completing all babies’ laundry, restocking diapers, wipes, and clothing, keeping feeding and nursery areas organized, supporting gentle rhythms for all babies, and providing emotional reassurance and guidance. This gives families of higher-order multiples a safe, structured, and more affordable alternative to hiring a two-NCS team (typically $700+ per night).

Can we leave the home and leave you with the baby?

Yes. You may leave for date nights, outings, or time with older children. If siblings are involved, we will discuss a separate agreement to ensure safety and clarity.

What happens if the baby doesn’t settle, or the baby has a difficult night?

You still sleep! I manage fussiness, gas, reflux, congestion, growth spurts, overtired cycles, and high-needs nights with calm, responsive, gentle care.

What if the baby is sick or one of our family members is sick?

Illness happens, and I’m still able to care for your baby as long as no medical procedures are required. Sick babies often need extra comfort, and I’m happy to support them while you get the rest you need.

If you or another family member is sick, I can still come. Please let me know ahead of time so I can take appropriate precautions. If the illness is highly contagious or poses a risk to me, my family, or other families I serve, I may need to reschedule, but I will communicate with you clearly and as early as possible.

If I become sick, I will never come into your home while unwell. Your baby’s safety and health always come first. I do require some compensation when illness occurs and I stay home due to still having you on the schedule which is 50% pay per shift I am scheduled for and if more than two days are needed, I will provide a doctor’s note.

This is not something I take lightly due to infants being so high risk when it comes to illness. I maintain excellent hygiene, handwashing, wellness habits, and sleep care so I can show up safely and consistently for your family.

INVESTMENT & VALUE

Why is overnight newborn care an investment?

Cradle & All Infant Care is not babysitting—it is specialized, restorative care rooted in safety, knowledge, and trust. Your investment reflects the years of training, certifications, ongoing education, supplies, insurance, gas, travel, business expenses, and my limited availability as a one-person operation. This season is short for your family, but caring for newborns is my long-term professional commitment. Your baby is priceless. Your rest is essential. Quality care matters.

What are your holiday policies?

Holiday shifts are billed at an additional $50 per shift and will be outlined in your contract.
